This regional position is responsible for the management of the Global Security Operations Center in support of all American Express Global Security operations in the region. The incumbent will direct and manage operations in the GSOC to assure all incoming signals, threats, alarms, calls, messages, and data are processed expeditiously and with the appropriate level of response according to Global Security procedures and guidelines. This is a regional position, with additional responsibilities of global standardization of response processes. Incumbents will be responsible for developing and managing procedures and assuring training, knowledge, and operations of GSOC operators. Incumbents are responsible for the safety of personnel and security of Company data, facilities, and other assets. How will you make an impact in this role? Develop, implement, and direct all GSOC related security programs and procedures in support of all American Express facilities being serviced. Manage all incoming information and assure effective GSOC processes exist for evaluating all information for threats and disseminating information as appropriate to affected personnel. Assure all GSOC processes are functionally effectively for tracking and supporting Global Security programs to include: Crisis Management, Fire Safety, Protective Intelligence, Executive Protection, Security Services, and Investigations. , Assure all GSOC security equipment and systems are managed, maintained, and tested to assure optimum lifespan and meet compliance demands. Support Crisis Management Align with regional GSOC Directors and Emergency Response Vice President to assure global deployment and alignment of all GSOC procedures. Ensure adequate training is in place for GSOC operators, to include an auditing process to measure response and performance. Partner with all Global Security management personnel in regional scope of responsibility. Develop metrics for the effective management and measurement of GSOC operators and operations. Assure all incidents and alarms are categorized and inputted, as appropriate, and resolved to completion in a timely manner. Solicit bids, select contractors, oversee contract work, and partner with contract agency local management. May work with local, national, and international law enforcement and/or government security agencies. May assist with or oversee internal investigations, including claims of violence in the workplace, sexual harassment, theft, vandalism, and injury. Plan and monitor expenditures within a budget. Have 24-hour availability in the event situations require afterhours attention. Minimum Qualifications : Previous job experience is required; candidates should have at least 5 years combined experience in one or more of the following: security management, physical security system design, crisis management, emergency response management, and/or people leadership. Professional certification in security management or personal protection is a plus. University degree preferred. Preferred fields of study include business, criminal justice, and social sciences. Significant multi-tasking ability required to manage a high volume of work projects and processes. Regional and cultural sensitivity with emphasis on diversity required to adjust communication and presentation styles to manage business relationships and expectations, while achieving security goals. Strong Project Management experience. Ability to analyze problems and make appropriate decisions quickly and effectively. Ability to drive large complex programs and solutions using both direct and virtual teams. Experience managing external vendors across broad and complex work engagements. Experience driving the development of audit strategies, performance metrics, and articulating the business value and costs of various audit programs. Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
