Join our dynamic UK Government Affairs team as a Director, UK Government and Political Affairs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft policy, build key relationships, and chip in to global objectives. Reporting to the Head of Global Media Relations and UK Corporate Affairs, you will be instrumental in delivering an outstanding government relations function, crafting the policy environment across key business areas, and acting as a global corporate contact for our UK sites.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will develop and maintain political relationships, provide opportunities to showcase AstraZeneca’s footprint with key partners, support the development of policy and strategy, collaborate with external organisations, support colleagues across our sites, identify external speaking opportunities, build an effective internal network, work with subject matter authorities to develop new policy positions, understand how to demonstrate our investment and programmes, and work with colleagues to deliver set piece engagements.

Crucial Skills/Experience:

  • Significant experience gained within Government, Parliament, industry, academia, healthcare and/or NGO sectors
  • Experience of engaging with, and influencing, senior political, official and business partners in the relevant areas of policy
  • A minimum a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area
