A fantastic position has been made available to join the bank as IT Systems Manager you will be responsible for deploying and supporting next generation solutions and strategies with an emphasis on collaboration, Data Management, workflow improvements, performance, availability, and security across cross functional technologies/products stack.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help Build/transform Processes/Reports/Metrics/KPI's, while ensuring that we're implementing the right thing, at the right time, for everyone who needs it. On any given day you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, communicate with stakeholders to set expectations, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate closely with cross-functional partners across bank. You will rally people together, coordinate players, and keep Senior Stake holders up to date on progress and deadlines.

The difference you'll make.

  • Liaising with technology and business partners to determine system needs, enhancements, and changes
  • Working with Technical teams to Design, build and launch extremely efficient and reliable data pipelines to move data across several platforms including, Products, Data Warehouse, and real-time systems
  • Working with data architecture that is flexible, scalable, and consistent for cross-functional use, and aligned to stakeholder business requirements
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders/Product Team to define and agree SLA and acceptable time lags by data source, define QA process, and socialize resolution process to ensure data is flowing accurately from Source to our presentation layers
  • Designing and building data strategies and roadmaps necessary to Serve Key Product Teams analytics and data enrichment needs
  • Managing team members through the Agile project management life cycle to ensure that overall progress and management of application/Solutions, project tasks are on track

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience building the platform and development using Elasticsearch stack - Elasticsearch, Kibana and Kafka
  • Knowledge of emerging data technologies, such as predictive analytics, data Modelling, visualisation, and NoSQL databases
  • Experience in SQL in Oracle or MySQL databases and BI Publisher reports
  • Working knowledge of large-scale services applications such as RemedyForce or ServiceNow, IBM api's.
  • Experience in data engineering, or related field with sound knowledge record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.
  • Experience leading a Data Products or Data Engineering Team

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Experience in Distributed computing like Big Data technologies, Hadoop
  • Experience extracting/cleansing data and generating insights from large transactional data sets using SQL, R, Python, Spark
  • Cloud knowledge (AWS and/or Azure)

This role is based in Milton Keynes and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.

1st Stage - Technical Interview - this will a 30min technical interview with one of the team

2nd Stage - A one-hour formal interview where we will ask both technical and competency-based questions. This can be done virtually or face to face depending on your situation.
