Job description

Job Purpose

The Dispatch Operative will maintain the daily functionality of the Darkside Developments Parts and Dispatch Department. Liaising with the Dispatch Manager to ensure daily workflows and targets are achieved. To do this you will also work closely with Fabrication and Service Workshop departments to ensure fluidity towards achieving our goal of exceptional customer service.

The main focus for this role will be mainly focused around Picking / Packaging in our Warehouse

Role Specifics

  • Salary £18,000 - £23,000 (Depending on Experience)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check the daily task list.
  • Ensure task list’s are checked daily and regular to maintain direction and consistency whilst minimise priority errors and maximising productivity.
  • Ensure all completed jobs are ticked off and cleared regularly and daily once complete.
  • Pick and pack all small orders.
  • Ensure all small orders are picked all together at once. Maintains efficiency and speed and allows for effective packing.
  • Pick and pack all large orders.
  • Ensure all large orders are picked effectively, taking into account bin locations and item size. Maintains efficiency and speed and allows for effective packing.
  • Dispatching completed orders.
  • After items are picked and packed make sure all items are placed in relevant dispatch cages relating to the courier service used.
  • Non-dispatched uncompleted orders.
  • After items are picked and packed make sure items not available are clearly marked and the Lead Dispatch Manager is made aware. Uncomplete orders then need to be shelved on the “Awaiting Parts” shelf.
  • Sign all “Goods In” and put in the right location within the parts department.
  • Ensure all inbound goods are signed in, accounted for and store away effectively in the right location.
  • Replenish empty shelves, using stored items.
  • Ensure all stock stored on site is managed and maintained.
  • Pick and supply items for Fabrication/Service Workshops.
  • Maintain required stock for both the Fabrication Workshop and Service Workshop.
  • Check general upkeep and organisation of the parts department.
  • Make sure your workspace is clean and tidy at all times.
  • Couriers and Deliveries - Royal Mail and DHL.
  • Ensure all cages and completed orders are ready for collection at the relevant collection times.
  • General Maintenance.
  • Work towards continual process improvements. Highlight any issues and suggest any improvements.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • GCSE Grades, C or higher in English and Maths.

  • Experience
  • Previous experience within a Warehouse picking and packing is preferred.
  • Previous Parts Department work preferred, but not essential.

Working Conditions

Normal working conditions will apply. Mainly indoors but can often be outdoors between departments. Special working conditions may include some late evenings. Every other Saturday & sometimes working with challenging clients.

Physical Requirements

This role is physically demanding. Often employees will be required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, doing repetitive tasks with few breaks

Pay: £18,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
