Job description


We are recruiting for the Head of Nursing role, one permanent post and one secondment.
Provide leadership and highly specialist clinical expertise in the provision of Nursing for service users in the Secure Care Division.
Help in driving the cultural change required to embody the Trust’s vision and values and support the successful transition of services.
Support the high-level operational and strategic business planning and leadership to ensure that the division provides high quality patient care and achieves its performance objectives.
Lead the local delivery of service redesign, integration and service performance.
Provide day to day operational stability during a period of significant change, deputising for the Associate Director of Nursing in their absence and retain authority, making key day to day operational decisions in their absence.
Provide cover for the Associate Director of Nursing within the Secure Care Division if required.
To ensure a clinical structure that promotes appropriate standards of care and establishes a career and developmental framework to support such standards, embracing both registered and non-registered staff.
Provide professional leadership and direction to the nursing workforce in the Division and be at the forefront of multi-disciplinary practice within acute care services.
Develop processes to monitor surveillance and quality of care delivered within the Division.
Monitor standards of service user care across all settings and, taking corrective action as required.
With the Divisional management team contribute to the strategic vision and developments of service user based services.
Deliver on CQC action plans and monitoring of improvements.
Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist inpatient and community mental health, learning disabilities, addiction and acquired brain injury services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, Merseyside. We also provide community physical health services in
