The post will assist the management of risk, issue, assumption and dependencys across the suite of projects. The post supports project managers in capture of project scope, management of change and assists the monthly drumbeat of project reporting.
There will also be an element of assistance with project schedules and if the successful candidate has no experience of schedule management training will be provided.
The role will support a range of projects reacting to the technical and operational needs of the DNO. Awareness and practical experience of working in the nuclear enterprise environment would be advantageous, however applications without this experience will be considered.The post sits within the Warhead Directorate, under the Stockpile Management division of DNO Warhead Delivery Team.
The Deputy Director Warhead Stockpile Management (WSM) has responsibility for maintaining safe, effective, performing, and available in-service nuclear warheads now and in the future.
The DD is the delegated Approval Authority for all UK nuclear weapon warheads and is responsible for delivering to customers those outputs specific to the nuclear weapons stockpile, including the introduction of the Mk4A TRES and Nuclear Warhead stockpile stewardship in support of the UK Strategic Deterrent and maintenance of Operation Relentless (Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD).

- The WSM Project Support Officer is primarily responsible for supporting project delivery within the WSM Programme.
- This includes assisting project scope definition, risk, issue, assumption and dependency management. The post will support the teams project managers so that outputs are delivered.
- The role will support the management and progress of change control notes that are raised to enable the delivery of project outputs.
- There will be a requirement for the role to perform basic project schedule management
- The role will support the team in the update of project information for the monthly drumbeat of reporting progress to the In Service Project Board.
- APM Project Management fundamentals course or equivalent
- APM Project Risk Management Single Subject Certificate or equivalent
- Experience of working in project environment.
- Experience of supporting multiple projects.
