Job description

Working within the DNO warhead delivery team the role will undertake the maintenance and management of the RNAD Coulport nuclear weapon Safety Case and its interface with the site operations and safety management arrangements.
The post holder will work as part of a small DNO on-site team that ensure that the site is aware of and compliant with the nuclear weapon Approving Authority conditions of approval and the Design Authority Trident technical weapon requirements.
They will work as part of a DNE cross enterprise team to uplift the site Safety Case to relevant good practice and provide coherence of approach across all nuclear weapon life cycle phases.
They will undertake all aspects of technical Safety Case work and will take the lead on all aspects of the Warhead Safety whilst within the site boundary.
As a secondary role the post holder will take the technical lead on individual new project requirements that may impact warhead operations and the Warhead Safety Case.
Due to security constraints, this post is exempt from hybrid working requests. Requests for flexible and condensed working patterns can be considered but may be limited. Candidates should consider this and must discuss with recruiting line manager before submitting an application.

  • Degree level qualified in a relevant science / engineering discipline (or equivalent demonstrable experience).

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
