An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as a Document Administratorin the Parts Verification Team (PTV) based in Derby .

As part of the delivery of Dreadnought Class Submarines, Rolls-Royce Derby is undergoing a large Nuclear Facilities Regeneration programme to manufacture components for the Dreadnought nuclear propulsion plant. This job will be a key part in the Commissioning of these facilities starting with the Commissioning of the Neptune Test Reactor Facility.

An exciting opportunity is open for a Document Administrator to join our Derby based Commissioning team, working on the delivery of Commissioning for the Neptune Test Reactor Facility. The Nuclear Facilities Commissioning Function is responsible for the delivery of all commissioning activities across our new-build nuclear manufacturing facilities and upgrades to current production facilities.

You will join a small team of chemists and support testing, analysis and reporting in the support of the full product life-cycle.

We’re a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority.

PVT Provides documentation checks that are independent from the production process, ensuring that all documentation is verified to assure traceability and provide independent Quality Assurance to Nuclear Industry standards. PVT are responsible for highlighting any noncompliance and working with other cells and functions to rectify noncompliance issues and ensure full traceability of the product from a documentation perspective. The route card is expected to reflect the integrity of the component. PVT check that component docs are compliant have full traceability to allow the parts to be booked to stock.

As a Document Administrator you will work alongside, key supporting functions and engineering teams responsible for manufacturing and delivering components for Britain’s Nuclear Submarine fleet.

You will be responsible for checking manufacturing documents for completeness and managing input of data into SAP. This is a key role which requires ability to focus and concentrate to ensure that documents are correct before parts are issued to manufacture or stores.

The role will also involve significant interaction with operations teams and manufacturing engineering in order to ensure that data and documents have been competed correctly and compliance verified.

What you will be doing:

You will be u sing executive systems such as SAP to validate data and information as recorded within the router and associated documentation.

  • Support manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with all legal requirements and customer requirements / orders through SAP compliance activities.
  • Checking and collation of manufacturing documents and records in support of manufacturing record retention and product certification requirements.
  • Ensure all materials that are released to manufacture are either conforming or all items managed in a controlled manner.
  • Ensuring any non-compliance is accurately recorded and that associated rework is fully documented and closed out.
  • Product Release - generation/verification of guarantee of conformity documentation and signature on behalf of business and managing secure storage, scanning and archiving of lifetime quality records.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
