Working for one of my Clients in Bradley Stoke we are looking to recruit a trainee document technician. This would perhaps suit someone with a computer science degree looking for their first role in IT.
As a Document Technician you will enable our aviation partners to do this by maintaining their datasets. Our dedicated training team will get you up and running with the basic skills you need to work with the data standards and software we use, and you’ll quickly begin working as part of a team delivering against partner requests. Safety is paramount in aviation and you will need to balance responsiveness to our partners’ needs with delivering a high standard of quality in your work. You will progress to increasingly complex datasets and ultimately you will become an invaluable extension of their team, helping them make the most of their data.
Pre-requisites
While competency on computers and a familiarity with standard software like Windows, the Microsoft Office Suite and E-mail are essential, we will teach you the skills and the tools you will need for your work.
While by no means essential, you would have a head start if you have familiarity with technical document editing products, including Adobe products, Gimp, Inkscape, Isodraw or similar; experience working with technical data formats such as SGML, HTML, XML or S1000D
Benefits
We are always adding to the benefits we can offer, so here is the package today, but it will probably improve over time.
Work/Life balance:
• 27 days’ holiday per year, rising incrementally to 30 days (plus bank holidays)
• The ability to buy or sell up to 3 days’ more holiday.
• Hybrid working: teams jointly decide what works best for you and the team, but we do expect you to attend the office when the team expects it, and ask you to be within travelling distance.
Working environment:
• Free breakfast pastries in the office once a week
• Regular pizzas for the whole team to celebrate team achievements and big days (sometimes we even have a taco van!)
• Free coffee and tea
• A good office environment: aviation-themed, with areas for collaborative or quiet working, dining and coffee areas and meeting rooms.
