As a Project Document Controller you will be working on and supporting the quality department on the building of three new Substation projects in the Argyll & Bute area, supporting our Substation colleagues to deliver 'Right First Time' quality projects to our clients.


What you'll be doing


As a Document Controller, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Manage and maintain confidential records
  • Execute on workflows / transmittal processes
  • Manage the control of Internal and External registers, to ensure they both align
  • Create templates and file all relevant documentation- Sharepoint and other platforms
  • Distribute information with correct configuration management and version control
  • Seek continuous improvement on current systems and processes
  • Provide Feedback on any documentation issues that impact the wider business
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure that they have a full understanding of document control
  • Provide training as required such that documentation control requirements are met
  • Ensure that the project team are notified of all potential opportunities and risks
  • Support in compilation, control and submission of Quality handover information
  • Check and review formatting of documentation
  • Provide information for various project KPI's

Who we're looking for


The following skills / experience are essential:

  • Proficient in IT systems used in documentation control - ViewPoint, BIM360 plus other EDMS experience
  • Experience of document control
  • Basic understanding of BIM and digital tools
  • An ability to understand how the operations of the department relate to others and work collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the business
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation
  • Good interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at all levels across the business and be able to negotiate and influence
  • Experience of working on a variety of project types
  • Must hold an up to date driving license
