Overview:
We are a fantastic team of experienced Dog Groomers looking for a full time person to join us. We are a supportive, fun and hard working team who enjoy creative grooming. We are a well respective salon with a long waiting list and a wide client base of dog breeds (including the usual cockapoos & cavapoos!
We are seeking a skilled, experienced and lovely Groomer to join our team. You will be responsible for providing grooming services to a variety of breeds including pet grooms, breed standard grooms, puppy grooms and handstripping. We offer training on any areas that you need support on (our manager offers hands on, ongoing training on a regular basis) but we are looking for someone who has at least two years of salon experience as a base.
This role is replacing one of our lovely groomers who has decided to give up grooming to become a pheasant keeper! Our team is well established and stable, we very rarely have to recruit as we very, very rarely have people leave! We are looking for someone who is committed to grooming and will be committed to us as we are to them!
Duties:
- Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, and ear cleaning for all breeds of dogs.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats, skin, and overall health speaking with the customer and ensuring both you and they have an understanding of the outcoming style.
- Provide recommendations to dog owners regarding grooming techniques and products
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the grooming area
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets during the grooming process
- Handle dogs with care and compassion, using gentle handling techniques
- Maintain accurate records of each dogs groom on our Savvy system.
Requirements:
- 2 years of previous experience as a dog Groomer within a salon is essential.
- Strong knowledge of different grooming techniques for various breeds of dogs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with owners.
- Ability to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments with patience and compassion
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as heavy lifting and standing for long periods of time
- Canine first aid certificate (training can be given if this has expired).
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
