Job description

PLEASE NOTE: This is currently an Ad Hoc cover position with the scope to develop into a full walking position. The hours will be between 10am-3pm Monday to Friday and will be inconsistent at first, however we will be looking to turn this into a regular part time position within 3-4 months.

Wags to Wishes are looking for a reliable Dog Walker to walk dogs according to times specified by dog owners.

The Dog Walker’s responsibilities include safely transporting dogs to and from their homes, providing clean water and food as required, and wiping dogs’ paws after every walk. You should also be able to seek immediate veterinarian attention should any dog become sick or injured while under your care. To be successful as a Dog Walker, you should be able to walk multiple dogs of various sizes and breeds (but never more than 4 at one time)

Ultimately, a top-performing Dog Walker will comply with clients' special requests, and ensure that all dogs are treated with love and care. Wags to Wishes prides itself on our customer service and we treat every dog like they're our own! We expect our walkers to continue with this level of service and sometimes go beyond the call of duty for your clients.

LOCATION - We currently operate in Kings Heath, Moseley, Shirley and Selly Oak and Rednal. Travel between these locations is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Walking multiple dogs in various weather conditions.
- Regularly recording information specifying which dogs were walked, the duration of the walks, and if there were any unusual or abnormal observations.
- Safely transporting dogs to and from their homes.
- Picking up and disposing of pet waste.
- Ensuring that all dogs have fresh water and food as required. (this will be provided)
- Scheduling suitable times to walk dogs.
- Taking all necessary precautions to ensure that the dogs and those around them are safe.
- Providing regular updates to clients, which includes sharing photos, videos, and locations.
- Notifying owners if dogs become sick or injured before, during, or after walks.

REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver’s license and willing to travel
- Proven experience working with dogs / qualifications in pet care are preferable
- Sound understanding of dog body language (training provided)
- Available to walk dogs during peak walking times. (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm)
- Occasional weekends where required
- The ability to walk for long periods of time.
- Patient, punctual, and reliable.
- Trustworthy and responsible.
