Dog Walker - Part time

Walking Pawz is VERY excited to be looking for an experienced Dog Walker or dog handler to join and help build the successful, fast-growing company based in Banbury.

PART TIME ROLE: 0900-1700, 3 DAYS A WEEK

WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY & OPTION FOR EITHER TUESDAY OR FRIDAY

The successful applicant MUST love and understand dogs as the position does require a person who is confident with all breeds.

Preferably have a background or experience working with animals (although training will be provided), must be physically fit, confident to handle dogs of all sizes, have excellent initiative, be reliable, honest and trustworthy.

You must be able to think fast and remain calm in any situation to ensure the safety of all of the dogs at all times.

You should also be happy working in any weather as no matter how hard it rains, our dogs have still got to be walked.

You will be required to pick up dogs from their homes and drive to locations to walk, unloading and loading dogs from the van at the field, picking up poo, playing with the dogs and cleaning down the dogs ready to go home.

The perfect candidate must be able to be self-sufficient and organised with their time - a full agenda for the next working day will be sent 24 hours in advance and candidates will be in control of planning their pick-up routes.

Full training and equipment will be provided to the chosen candidate, training will include: Canine first aid, a basic canine behaviour course, a DBS check, this is paid for by the company. Employees will also be covered by our insurance.

You will also receive a bonus every time you successfully recommend someone that signs up with us.

Responsibilities and duties

• Passion for dogs and their development
• Previous experience working with dogs is desirable
• Have an understanding of pet care requirements or be happy to become canine first aid certified
• Confident to work alone
• Must be able to work come rain or shine
• Personable, engaging and energetic
• Happy to do partake in business development such as leaflet dropping when required
• Highly organised, and forward thinking
• Patience - this is key when you are becoming familiar with new dogs
• Physical strength and stamina - you must be able to handle large dogs if needed and keep control of a lead if a dog pulls
• Full UK clean driving licence - branded vans with fitted cages are provided
• Relevant qualifications in pet care is desirable
• Cover for team sickness/holiday
• You must live close to Banbury.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From £20,000.00 per year
