Job description

Domestic Abuse Caseworker

Cardiff

Monday - Friday

£23,172 per annum

Are you passionate about supporting individuals facing challenges related to Domestic Abuse, racism, trafficking, and modern slavery? Do you have the skills and empathy to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need support the most? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic team as an Independent Personal Advisor.

Your key responsibilities will be to support the women who are accessing the service, advocate on their behalf, empower the women and develop personalised support plans and network with external agencies and community partners.

A wide range of training and development will be provided in this role to ensure you are staying informed about best practices, policies, and legislation related to Domestic Abuse, racism, trafficking, and modern slavery. You will have the ability to pursue your professional development with opportunities including obtaining or working towards an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) qualification if this is not something that you hold already.

Requirements:

Experience in providing support to individuals who have faced Domestic Abuse, racism, trafficking, or modern slavery.

Understanding of the issues surrounding Domestic Abuse, racism, trafficking, and modern slavery, and a commitment to empowering individuals affected by these challenges.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients.

Ability to work flexibly within the hours of 9 am - 7 pm, Monday to Friday.

An Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) qualification is desirable, but candidates willing to work towards obtaining one will also be considered.

Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgemental approach to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.
