Main purpose and scope of the job:

The focus of this role is to deliver a comprehensive package of support to people experiencing Domestic Abuse with diverse and Complex Needs. Victims/Survivors will receive significantly increased support to maintain their current accommodation/access suitable accommodation, to resettle in the community and to experience refuge provision that meets their needs.

To provide safety planning, support, advice and assistance to victims and survivors in refuge accommodation and in the community, working in partnership to identify and overcome barriers, supporting them to access support independently in the future and breaking the cycle of abuse.

The post-holder will work to empower and support all victims and survivors of Domestic Abuse to make positive choices.

To work in partnership with Southampton IDVA service to deliver Pippa (Prevention, Intervention and Public Protection Alliance) providing initial advice, information and guidance to victims, professionals, and family members.

To participate in the delivery of the on-call out of hours on a rota basis.

Workers should be “free from abuse in their own lives.” Applicants are asked not to put themselves forward for selection if this is not the case.

It is essential that the postholder has a driving license and access to a car for work purposes as this role covers multiple sites in Southampton.
