Job Opportunity : Out of Hours Refuge Support Assistant - £11 per hour - 25 hours per week - Mix of Days/Night Shifts on Rolling Rota - Access to Car Essential

Moxie are currently working with a domestic abuse charity in the Torfaen/Newport region, who are looking to recruit 3 part-time Support Assistants for their refuge/community based housing projects. They are keen to speak with individuals who are resilient, with a can-do attitude and are keen to develop a successful career in empowering and advocating for the rights of vulnerable women and their children.

The Juicy Bits:

Location: Torfaen

Earnings: £(phone number removed) per annum, pro-rated

Hours: Average 25 per week (lots of opportunity for overtime if willing to travel to other sites for work in Newport region)

Working Pattern: 4-week rolling rota basis, including bank holidays and weekends. Overnight shifts are sleep-in shifts from 11 pm. (Example rota provided)

Transport: Access to a full, clean UK driving license with own transport is essential for this role (any business travel is covered at 45p per mile with additional 5p per mile for passengers)

What does a typical day look like ?

As an OOH refuge worker, you will be providing support and advice to women to help them move past their trauma and assist them in their recovery.

You will be responsible for helping to create a warm, safe and welcoming environment for residents at all times. This will involve work such as: cleaning duties, collecting and distributing mail/parcels, organising and arranging activities/events for women and children in the refuge, carrying out basic support duties such as following support plans and carrying out risk assessments.
