Drainage Engineer

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join the Highway Design team and support in the design and implementation of highway and infrastructure projects. 

Our current portfolio is extensive and varied and you will have the opportunity to be involved from the inception to completion of projects, taking ownership and shaping the outcomes. The projects range in scope and value from minor, community-driven schemes in residential areas to large-scale, multimillion-pound interventions in the City’s thriving development areas.

As Drainage Engineer you will be involved in the design and supervision of large, multi-disciplinary schemes such as those listed above, but will also have responsibility for standalone drainage schemes. The design of SuDS in particular is a key part of the role, with Salford leading the way in this area within Greater Manchester. 

Another aspect of the role is to provide support to the Flood Risk and Drainage Manager in undertaking the statutory requirements set out in the Land Drainage and Flood and Water Management Acts.

The role will require you to liaise with other professionals across the Technical Services teams as well as clients, stakeholders, statutory bodies, and the public.
