Prospero Teaching are seeking a qualified, passionate and dedicated Drama teacher to temporarily join a Ofstead Good school in the heart of Bushey Hertfordshire . The role will be on a full time basis and will start as soon as possible on a long term basis. It is essential that you hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience teaching Drama or expressive arts in a secondary school.
The successful candidate will be able to provide exceptional support to students, demonstrate good behaviour and classroom assistance/management. You will also need to be available to attend parents evenings, and departmental meetings as and when required.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive drama lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our students.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves and explore their creativity.
- Develop and implement a stimulating and varied curriculum that inspires students to develop their performance skills and appreciation for drama.
- Organize and oversee extracurricular drama activities, such as school productions, drama clubs, and workshops, to provide additional opportunities for students to showcase their talents.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them develop their confidence and performance abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate drama across the curriculum and contribute to cross-disciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A degree or relevant qualification in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching drama to students of varying ages and abilities.
- Strong knowledge of drama theory, techniques, and performance styles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A creative and adaptable approach to teaching, with a passion for inspiring and motivating students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to the school community.
- A commitment to promoting safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of all students.
