To co-ordinate the timely and cost-effective movement of all materials, our products, and support services to the point of use; ensuring that Company performance targets are achieved. Duties will include, but are not limited to, driving company van, pick / packing of materials, loading and unloading material. The role is highly focussed on operational efficiency
Key Responsibilities
- Driving company van predominantly between our UK sites (Southwater and Pulborough). However, this is not exhaustive.
- Loading and unloading the van in a secure manner, with materials to be delivered and returned.
- Being part of the Stores Team ensuring departmental KPIs are achieved with the intention of developing and sustaining the 6S programme.
- Maintaining regular communication.
- Review the deliveries with recipients to ensure they are accurate.
- Ensure vehicle is clean and always maintained. Plan delivery routes and carry out safety checks on the vehicle.
- Daily reporting of metrics.
- Receive, check and then receipt materials using the ERP system.
- Unload/load delivery vehicles using the company forklift Truck as required.
- Assist the Stores team in ensuring departmental KPI objectives are achieved with the intention of developing and sustaining the 6S programme.
- Assist with daily cycle counts as instructed, accurately with great attention to detail.
- Preparation of kitted parts for manufacture, which are accurate, completed on time and recorded using the ERP system.
- Fully understand FIFO principles, and apply them to issuing materials.
- Issue of ad-hoc requirements using the requisition and NCR system.
- Ensure stock is stored appropriately, with correct labelling, and being secure.
- Ensure point-of-use inventory levels are maintained for cell/work centre use.
- Control correct disposal of all unrequited material in accordance with COSHH/ISO14001 Regulations including recycling of all incoming packaging materials.
- Keeping informed and support EMS and improvement team activities and ISO9001 – quality and ISO14001 – environmental requirements. Commit to achieving the Company business, quality and environmental objectives and policies.
- Actively participate and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Clean, full UK driver's license.
- Experience driving Luton sized vehicle or equivalent.
- Previous stores / warehouse experience desired.
- Good time management.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Material handling experience.
- Strong interpersonal and written skills.
- A problem solver with the ability to seek alternative solutions
- Computer literacy is of benefit.
- Knowledge of JIT and KANBAN driven processes.
- Hands on approach with a strong attention to details with excellent follow up skills.
- Team player skills with the proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Bendi / Forklift truck license is desirable.
