Bennetts of Kilwinning is an established coach company in Stevenston. We are looking to develop a training centre to facilitate the next generation of coach drivers.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Driver Trainer to join our team, and build our training academy from the ground up. As a Driver Trainer, you will be responsible for training and mentoring new drivers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently. This is a crucial role in our organization as you will play a key part in shaping the future of our driver workforce.

Duties:

- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for new drivers, covering topics such as safe driving practices, company policies and procedures, and vehicle maintenance

- Provide hands-on training in various driving scenarios, including city driving, highway driving, and navigating through challenging road conditions

- Evaluate trainees' driving skills and provide constructive feedback for improvement

- Monitor trainees' progress throughout the training period and adjust training methods as needed

- Assist with the development of training materials and resources

- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices related to commercial driving

Experience:

Full PCV and HGV driving licence

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial driver,

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Strong knowledge of commercial driving rules and regulations

- Mechanical knowledge to address minor vehicle issues during training sessions
