MAIN OBJECTIVES:
We are seeking an individual to efficiently manage the movement of materials, our high-quality products, and support services. The primary focus of this role is to ensure timely and cost-effective operations, involving driving a company van, pick/packing materials, and maintaining operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the company van, primarily between UK sites in Horsham and West Sussex
- Safely load and unload the van with materials for delivery and return.
- Contribute to the Stores Team, achieving departmental KPIs and sustaining the 6S program.
- Maintain regular communication and review deliveries with recipients for accuracy.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle, plan delivery routes, and conduct safety checks.
- Report daily metrics and receipt materials using the ERP system.
- Assist in daily cycle counts with attention to detail.
- Prepare kitted parts for manufacture, ensuring accuracy and timely recording using the ERP system.
- Apply FIFO principles to issuing materials and handle ad-hoc requirements using the requisition and NCR system.
- Store stock appropriately with correct labeling, ensuring security.
- Maintain point-of-use inventory levels for cell/work centre use.
- Ensure proper disposal of unrequired material in compliance with COSHH/ISO14001 Regulations, including recycling of incoming packaging materials.
- Stay informed and support EMS and improvement team activities, along with ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements.
- Actively participate in and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Possess a clean, full UK driver's license.
- Have experience driving a Luton-sized vehicle or equivalent.
- Previous experience in stores/warehouse operations is desired.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Experience in material handling.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving ability with a knack for seeking alternative solutions.
- Computer literacy is beneficial.
- Knowledge of JIT and KANBAN-driven processes.
- Hands-on approach with a keen attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
- Team player with proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Bendi/Forklift truck license is desirable.
