Driver/Sales Assistant

Driver/Sales Assistant required to transport and sell children’s books at school events

The Roving Bookshop has been working with schools since 1993 to provide access for children to the very best of children’s books. It now has a nationwide reputation for quality and service among teachers, educationalists, and authors

• Option: to contract to an average of 1, 2 or 2 ½ events per week equivalent to an average working week of 15, 30 or 37.5 hours
• Salary: Monthly with overtime hours paid or taken in lieu
• Flexibility: increased hours during term time and extended time off during school holidays
• Based: in Leicester – travelling nationwide 
• Immediate Start – 6 month contract with potential for permanent position
• DBS Enhanced check and clean driving licence essential

We are looking for a reliable and flexible Driver/Sales Assistant with a friendly communication style with teachers and children

Driver/Sales Assistant Duties: -

• load and unload 3000+ books in up to 54 display cases
• drive to and from venue – van provided
• erect the Bookshop display cases at the venue
• record sales on computer Point of Sale – training will be given

An interest in and knowledge of children’s books is an advantage but not essential – training will be given
