Drug & Alcohol Worker
Looking for more than just a job? Look no further as we have an exciting opportunity to join our North Yorkshire Horizons team as a Drug & Alcohol Worker.
About Us
North Yorkshire Horizons is a Drug and alcohol service for adults, made up of several key partners including Humankind, enabling the development of a peer led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop the life skills, and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance misuse, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens.
About the role
As a Drug and Alcohol Worker you will be an integral member of the dynamic multi-agency team providing harm reduction advice, assessing and engaging new clients entering treatment, needle exchange provision and risk management.
The post holder will work closely with appropriate partners and stakeholders within office based, community and outreach settings.
Key duties include:
  • Engaging and assessing new clients
  • Harm reduction advice
  • Risk management
  • Recovery planning
  • Case management
About you
  • Relevant qualifications in social care work, counselling, or a related field
  • Experience working in the field of substance use or a related area
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency team
  • Understanding of harm reduction principles and recovery-focused approaches
  • Case management experience
  • Driving license is preferred but not essential
