This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Centre Engineer and Technician. We are looking to expand our current teams with Data Centre Engineersand Technicians in multi-disciplinary roles, where there will be excellent opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the Data Centre.

Location: Role 1 - Swindon / Bath Area

Location: Role 2 - Ipswich / Suffolk

Location: Role 3 - Cheltenham / Gloucestershire

Rate: £400 - £500 per day - Negotiable depending on experience, Outside IR35

Duration: 12 months with 12 months extension option.

Start date: ASAP

 

DV Data Centre Engineer and Technician

An exciting opportunity for a Data Centre Engineer and Technician. We are looking to expand the current team with a Data Centre Engineer and Technician in a multi-disciplinary role, where there will be excellent opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the Data Centre.

This Data Centre hosts cutting edge technologies and the role provides the successful candidate the opportunity to become a Data Centre subject matter expert.

Key deliverables:

  • Work with the Data Centre team to install & decommission hardware components as required

 

  • Planning and implementing of cable patching for fibre channel and ethernet cabling

 

  • Undertaking proactive Data Centre maintenance activities, including break-fix activities and liaising with support teams and hardware or software vendors

 

  • Work with Project teams and Support teams in the delivery of infrastructure implementation projects

 

  • Respond in a timely manner to Incident reporting events and liaise with the appropriate support teams for resolution

 

  • Undertake ad-hoc Service request activity and liaise with the appropriate support teams for completion

 

  • Use Data Centre infrastructure management (DCIM) tools to monitor, measure, and manage Data Centre utilisation and energy consumption of all IT-related equipment (such as servers, storage and network switches) and facility infrastructure components (such as power distribution units and computer room air cooling)

 

  • Ensure Change processes are implemented and followed

 

  • Any work undertaken conforms to client Design, Configuration Management and Auditing standards

 

  • Administer Asset management tooling and logging as appropriate

 

  • Liaise with site facilities for delivery acceptance, following local site procedures

 

  • Undertake out of hours work and on call support where necessary 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Full UK Driving License

 

  • Experience in a Data Centre role or comparable IT role with Infrastructure experience

 

  • DV Security Clearance

 

Qualifications

 

  • CNET, CDCTP or CDCMP qualification.  It will be possible to study for these qualifications as part of the role if not already obtained
