We are seeking to recruit an experienced Dyslexia & SpLD Adviser for our Canterbury campus, home to our Doctoral College, School of Architecture, as well as a range of BA and MA degrees in Fine Art, Design and Visual Communications subjects.

 

UCA remains committed to continuous development and enhancement of our teaching, learning, research, and assessment practices to be totally inclusive, enabling all students to be fully engaged and immersed in their learning experiences. 

 

We are seeking an individual with specialist expertise and knowledge of dyslexia and specific learning differences with experience of working with both international and home students. You will be enthused by the prospect of being able to affect real institutional change and will:

 

  • Work in partnership with our academic communities to create teaching and learning strategies that enable our diverse student groups to succeed within our specialist art and design context.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to enhance and further improve the experience of students with SpLDs and disabilities.
  • Develop innovative methods of providing support to student with SpLDs, and embed best accessible practice within curriculum delivery to benefit all learners.

 

You will hold a degree or equivalent, together with a recognised professional qualification in specific learning difficulties and be a qualified dyslexia tutor, with a background in higher or further education. You will be passionate about developing inclusive teaching and learning practice and will possess the skills to positively influence change.

 

Full time, part time or job share hours will be considered.
