The Early Careers Team leads the creation and shaping of M&Gs early talent recruitment strategy and provides best in class development programmes to our interns, apprentices, and graduates. We partner with colleagues across M&G Plc to help us achieve our vision is to recruit and develop a diverse high calibre talent pool to shape the future success of M&G plc.
The Early Careers Recruitment and Development Consultant is responsible for supporting the team to deliver end-to-end recruitment and programme management of graduates and interns. From attraction events on campus, to designing learning interventions, mentoring graduates, and partnering senior stakeholders in the business, this is an exciting and varied role,
You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end graduate and internship programmes, including all recruitment, attraction, selection, induction delivery and programme design, and management.
Working closely with the Head of Early Careers and the wider Early Careers team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our programmes, supporting our ambition for continuous improvement and innovation within our approach.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Attraction:
  • Design and execute the annual attraction plan, including events, work experience, career fairs, skill development sessions and university partnerships.
  • Develop key relationships both internally and externally with stakeholders, strategic external D&I partners, job boards, early career providers and governing bodies to ensure our graduate and internship programmes remain best in class across our industry.
  • Represent M&G Plc at internal and external recruitment events, including Careers Fairs, Skills Sessions, Networking events, and other virtual and in person events at Universities and Schools.
  • Organise and deliver insight events for undergraduates and school leavers. This includes marketing, management of applications, organisation of guest speakers, preparation of materials, refreshments, collating feedback, and communication post event. In addition, this includes tracking data on Insight events and candidate application and progression.
  • Manage our online and social media and communication strategy. Engaging external vendors to ensure content for our careers website and other external platforms are frequent, relevant, and considered (and delivered according to internal brand/compliance guidelines)

Assessment and Selection:
  • Be solely responsible for the end-to-end attraction, recruitment, assessment, and selection of a range of graduate and intern cohorts.
  • Contribute to our annual recruitment review. Conducting market research on industry trends, external events, and vendors we could engage with.
  • Manage the candidate experience, from pro-active engagement with prospective candidates and progressing through the recruitment process via the applicant tracking system and other methods,
  • Collaborate with, and advise stakeholders at all levels within the business, developing assessment materials including case studies, interview scripts and other assessment exercises.
  • Organise and facilitate Assessment Centres (in-person or virtual) for final stage candidates.
  • Deliver verbal feedback to candidates, extending offers and working with the central team to ensure all onboarding elements are completed in a timely manner.
  • Capture and analyse internal recruitment data to derive information and identify patterns and trends.
  • Quality assurance and on ongoing improvement of our assessment and selection process, in response to internal and industry developments

Programme Development & Management:
  • Collaborate with Senior Stakeholders across M&G Plc to design fit for purpose development programmes that deliver an Early Careers talent pool with appropriate credentials (including supporting the annual training needs reviews)
  • Manage relationships with professional bodies, training and apprenticeship providers, creating the right in-house support frameworks than enable learners to fully participate and achieve success in their qualifications.
  • Design, deliver and commission training workshops, skills sessions, and networking events for our programmes.
  • Design and deliver a comprehensive induction for our interns and graduates. This includes sourcing and briefing senior guest speakers, liaising with external training providers, and gathering and evaluating feedback.
  • Execute and improve core development programme components (such as placement rotations, performance management and roll-off)
  • Coach managers across the business to fulfil their roles in supporting graduates and interns, curating, and presenting resource packs, group and individual guidance/information sessions and signposting.

Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) and Social Mobility:
  • Supporting M&G's D&I and Social Mobility strategy throughout all activity: marketing, recruitment, assessment, selection and development - a key requirement of the role is to ensure our programmes fully support our D&I strategy.
  • Building relationships with and exploring opportunities with existing and potential Charity Partners.
  • Building relationships and seeking opportunities with our D&I team, CSR team and internal diversity networks.
  • Monitoring and analysis of our D&I data, including the preparation of reports and packs for management review and consideration.
  • Supporting with the completion of surveys and reviews, such as the Social Mobility Index, National Quality Standards etc.
