Salary: £26,788 - £30,751 (pro rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional
We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Years Practitioner to join our nursery team to support play based learning. We are proud to have a diverse school and nursery community with a wide range of nationalities represented. Forthview Primary School is a Public Private Partnership funded school opened in West Pilton, North Edinburgh in 2003 as the merger of Craigmuir and Inchview Primary Schools.
The building is modern and well maintained and accommodates 15 classrooms, a library, a meeting room/GP room, a family room, an after-school room, large gym hall and dining area. The school population has approximately 400 children and 64 full time nursery places during term time The school SLT includes HT, 2 DHT’s and 1 PT(Nursery/P1). The classes are taught by a mixture of full-time and part-time staff with a wide range of experience. There are part-time support for learning teachers in each wing and a large team of Pupil Support Assistants who are led by the depute head teacher, the SfL team and class teacher to support individuals and groups of learners. We have a family support teacher who has a wide remit and she plays a highly valued role in working between home and school as well as having a teaching commitment.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
