About the role
We have a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join this forward thinking school, catering for pupils with needs ranging from wheelchair users with medical needs, to autistic children with sensory and behaviour needs. The school operates with an emphasis on developing practical skills based on a unique afternoon curriculum including bespoke designed courses to make each pupil able to develop not only academically, but holistically also, along with RE, Science and Technology. As they have a number of different teaching environments such as sensory integration rooms as well as a specialsed library, meaning the candidate will be comfortable with assisting lessons in a range of teaching environments.
Your role will include:
Getting the classroom ready for lessons
Listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories
Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
Providing support to the lead teacher in classroom instruction and management
Assisting with classroom activities and lessons
