Sticklepath Community Primary Academy (470 pupils on roll including nursery)
This post is fixed term to provide maternity cover.
Empowering our children (and staff) through deep learning to change:
• themselves
• their community
• their world
Sticklepath Community Primary Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and reflective Early Years teacher who believes – like we do - that every child can achieve and experience the joy and pride of success in learning through hard work, high expectations, perseverance and commitment.
This role will be a full-time position in our reception team to cover a maternity leave but with the hope that this opportunity will be extended.
We are looking for a teacher who:
• Is motivated, creative and brave in developing and improving their approach to teaching and learning – and sees this as a constant voyage of discovery (we are never the finished article!)
• Has high expectations of all children with an unwavering commitment to overcoming barriers and raising aspiration especially for children who are the most disadvantaged
• Creates a high-quality learning environment that supports and celebrates learning
• Is able to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team, including across the Tarka Learning Partnership MAT, with a commitment to high quality professional dialogue
• Has excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work in partnership with parents
• Is reflective and committed to developing their own learning including through the use of research and evidence based practice
• Is excited and motivated by challenge!
We can offer you:
• An awesome team of teaching and support staff who are committed to the children and each other and who understand that the key to learning and achievement is through building relationships
• A school leadership committed to decluttering the job and focusing on what really matters
• Professional support and challenge every step of the way and a culture of learning and reflection where we are all learners as much as the children and where teachers can be brave, take risks and try out new ideas in the knowledge that, when things go wrong, we learn from our mistakes!
• Opportunities for professional development across our partner school Eden Park and an incredible CPD offer as part of the Tarka Learning Partnership – this includes a high-quality programme of support for ECTs
• ECTs are welcome to apply for this post.
If you think this could be you, please come and visit us or make a telephone/online appointment for an informal discussion where we can share our vision with you and tell you more about the role.
Please contact our school office on 01271 342455 to arrange a visit or a telephone appointment with one of the co-headteachers.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
NB: in line with our Safer Recruitment policy, references will be requested after shortlisting as part of the selection process.
