We are looking for an Electrical Control & Instrumentation Technician / Engineer to support the maintenance on a Gas Fired Power Station. This role is working for a sub-contractor on a customers site.
Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Site Manager you will:
- Fault finding and defect rectification to electrical, control & instrumentation equipment
- Breakdown repairs to electrical, control & instrumentation equipment
- Providing Instrumentation support
- Trouble shooting Control and Instrumentation Issues
- Carrying out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems as per procedural documentation
- Carrying our both planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Instrumentation and control systems on industrial and or process equipment i.e., boilers, turbines, switchgear, starters, VFD's, pumps, fans, motors, drives, conveyors & control systems
- Ability to interface and liaise with internal customers and other sub-contractors
- Assisting with technical input for proposals/tender
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Ideally educated with a HNC / HND in an Electrical or C&I discipline
- 18th Edition
- COMPEX certified
- Apprenticeship in a relevant EC&I discipline
- At least five years post-apprenticeship working experience on a complex engineering plant such as a Refinery, Power Station, COMAH site etc.
- IOSH qualified would be advantageous
Personal skills:
The EC&I Technician role would suit someone who is:
- Familiar with hands on fault finding, diagnostics and repair or EC&I equipment including pressure, temperature, flow, level, motors, actuators, switchgear, transformers etc.
- Able to carry out calibrations & loop checks on DCS and PLC equipment
- Competent in reading circuit / line diagrams, P&ID's and other technical documentation
