H9 Technical Recruitment are hiring for an EC&I Technician to work at our clients Biomass Power Plant in Rotherham, South Yorkshire to be responsible for maintenance and repair to the sites Electrical, Control and Instrumentation equipment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all maintenance activities diligently and safely reporting any defects that require repair and assisting where required in the rectification.
- Work closely with Specialist contractors across all aspects of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation ensuring jobs are performed efficiently safety and to the satisfaction of the plant management.
- Actively pursue all opportunities for learning and development, gaining as much knowledge on plant as possible.
- Carry out PPM for site in a safe and timely manner.
- Complete all paperwork and CMMS feedback for work that is done.
- Be involved in installation, testing and ongoing operation of plant monitoring systems and machine protection systems.
- Maintenance of all EC&I systems on the plant including investigation and rectification of faults.

Skills & Qualifications
- HNC level Control & Instrumentation Engineering qualification preferred.
- EA Reporting.
- CEMS Reporting.
- Knowledge of UK HSE legislation advantageous.
- PSSR regulations advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Good interpersonal, communication and motivational skills with a flexible, enthusiastic, and committed attitude to work.
- Good data processing and systems skills.
- Computer literate.
- Project Management.
- E, C + I Engineering & Maintenance experience.
- 5+ years Thermal Power Plant experience preferred.
- Experienced working within an engineering or maintenance department on an industrial site.
- Experience of maintenance with CMMS would be an advantage.
- Experience in DCS systems and associated server and client PC platforms, HMI panels and SCADA would be an advantage. Preferable to have ABB 800xA Series experience.
- Experience maintaining / managing CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring System) as well as working with DSEAR regulations would be an advantage.
- Experience working with CMMS (computer maintenance management systems).
- Experience of managing Assets in line with PSSR would be an advantage.
