Economic Development Manager – The Role:
East Cambridgeshire District Council is seeking an experienced Economic Development Manager, with the skills to facilitate and drive development of a prosperous and sustainable economy within its district.
The Council has a multi-skilled Economic Development team. The team works closely with a wide range of public and private sector stakeholders, in areas such as inward investment, business growth; digital economy; skills and employment. The Economic Development
Manager is the accountable lead for this service.
You will have an important role in understanding the local conditions for sustainable economic growth; developing strategies aligned with the Councils corporate priorities; ensuring the Council and stakeholders are connected with regional funding programmes; lead and direct the Economic Development Team across its various disciplines.
You will also be responsible for the Council’s E-Space Business Centres, to ensure their continued success and future development.
Economic Development Manager – You:
- You will need a high-level degree qualification, or equivalent work experience, ideally in business or Economic Development specialism, together with a management qualification
- You will need a strong track record relating to development and delivery of economic growth programmes, within the public sector
- As well as a strong track record of developing stakeholder contacts/influence at all levels
- You will be confident with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate the Economic Development Team
- You will be accomplished at developing strategies, advising on policy matters, and creating programmes aimed at improving the growth, performance, and sustainability of the district’s economy
- You will need outstanding communication skills and a proven ability to build a network of relevant contacts in both public and private sectors
