Job description

We are recruiting a Lay Member to join our statutory Education Committee.

Joining the Education Committee will give you a unique opportunity to deploy your knowledge, experience and expertise to help drive chiropractic education and training standards higher to reflect wider health regulation trends and ensure public protection.

The successful candidate will also take on the role of External Examiner for the TOC, playing a key role in quality assuring the process.

The External Examiner role requires a good understanding of the GCC’s Code, Education Standards and any related guidance as well as the role and purpose of the TOC.

Experience of acting in an External Examiner role (or comparable experience) is desirable and the successful candidate will have a background in higher education and a high level of understanding of the health care environment.

Our purpose is to protect, promote and maintain the health, safety and well-being of the public; promote and maintain public confidence in the profession of chiropractic; and to promote and maintain proper professional standards and conduct for members of the chiropractic profession.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented within our Committees, including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people and LGBTQ+.
