We are looking to recruit a part time Education Therapy Practitioner, 22.12 hours (3 days) per week within Education Therapy Team. This post is a permanent position within the Educational Psychology service and working mainly within primary and secondary schools across the Wakefield District. The Education Therapy Team provides early mental health therapeutic intervention in mainstream schools including consultation, sessions, assessment, and support for social, emotional and psychological well-being problems to children and young people, 6 – 18 years of age.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making difference to the lives of our children and young people and families in Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team making a big difference in the lives of children and young people who are at risk of exclusion from education. The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of therapeutic intervention to vulnerable children and young people to reduce the risk of exclusion from education settings, empower them to be confident, develop support network, increase resilience and improve the outcomes for them
It would be beneficial but not essential that the candidate has experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and to assess their needs and to have ability to analyse risks on priority basis.
