Job description

£3k relocation | £5k retention | Lower Tax | Beautiful Location | Slower Pace of Life

20% Tax  | Channel Islands | Fixed Term Contract Considered

Educational Psychologist – £74,599-£85,476

Have you got to the stage where you just want something different? Perhaps your children have finally flown the nest, or you’re fed up with the English weather…maybe just fancy an adventure?

If you are an experienced Educational Psychologist then we are currently helping a local authority in the Channel islands recruit permanent staff to their team.

The role will not be unfamiliar to work on the mainland/England, albeit the frameworks and assessments are slightly different; eg. Instead of EHC assessments, you will be issuing ‘Record of Needs’.

That being said the service is made up of a mixture of locals, and those who have moved to the island, so the transition is a smooth one if you are confident in your knowledge, and share the aim of providing the best outcome for those under the umbrella of their inclusion service.

The authority is going through a period of strategic change, with senior management who are dedicated to making huge improvements to a service that has acknowledged their previous short falls and pledged to make a difference to the children in the education system.

Depending on your circumstances you can have access to a host of support – be it the £3k relocation cost & dedicated relocation support from a private provider, £5k retention bonus after completion of probation. Alternately you if you want to ‘dip your toe’ then discussion around a fixed term contract with monthly accommodation allowance  (circa £500) is something that could be considered.

The islands are known for their massive tax benefits, beautiful scenery, and slow pace of life. If this sounds like something you could enjoy; along with the chance to have a huge impact on their education services then reach out to find out more.

As this is a statutory role, you do require the appropriate qualifications and registration to HCPC.
