Job Information

he Statutory Assessment and Review Team require an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Officer to join their busy team on a fulltime basis. The successful candidate would be responsible for managing a caseload of learners (0-25 years) with special educational needs who attend a variety of schools, settings and colleges throughout Northumberland. They would be expected to lead on the coordination of Annual Reviews. EHCP Officers are line managed by EHCP Coordinators who are responsible for ensuring that statutory processes are carried out in a timely manner and that EHC Plans are of the highest quality, and help to secure the best possible outcomes across education, health and social care for the learner, including preparing them for adulthood. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work to deadlines within a fast paced team. Previous experience in the field of SEND and a good working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice is required, although some training will be given. The salary for this role is £29,269- 32,076

Essential requirements:  A minimum of Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent is essential, as is a good depth of understanding and knowledge of child / young person development. You need to show knowledge and experience of the Early Help Assessment process and be able to demonstrate an ability to chair TAF meetings.
