Salary: HC8 £33,945 - £38,223 per annum
Contract: Fixed Term

The Role

The Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team are seeking an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC) Plan Officer for maternity cover until 31 March 2025. This is an opportunity to join a supportive team who are committed to ensuring that quality services and support are provided to our children and young people with SEN.
The successful applicants will be responsible for a specified caseload and with supervision from the SEN Manager, will oversee the co-ordination of the statutory assessment process. Tasks will include preparing draft, final and amended EHC Plans, attending annual review meetings and preparing information for decision making panels.
In addition, the post-holder will provide advice and guidance to parents, children and young people with SEN, schools and other professionals regarding the requirements of the SEND Code of Practice 2014. Close working with a range of service providers including colleagues in health, social care and education is required in order to ensure the delivery of effective EHC Plans in accordance with statutory deadlines.
The successful applicants for these largely desk based roles will have: excellent interpersonal skills, proven written skills, attention to detail and will be focused upon securing the best outcomes for the children and young people with SEN in Herefordshire.
