Role: EHS Specialist

Location: Stafford
Contract Length: 6-12 months +
Inside IR35
Rate: £350-450pd
Hybrid working, 3 days in office.
Project - UK HVDC project designed to unlock the UK's renewable energy reserves by scaling up the capacity to transport clean energy from where it is generated to where it is needed.
Responsibilities:
- Management and implementation of all environmental requirements of the project.
- Provision of weekly and monthly reports to the client.
- Provision of required environmental and Sustainability plans.
- Delivery of program of environmental and sustainability works, inclusive of, but not limited to, surveys, pre-construction mitigation, monitoring of mitigation, watching briefs, and exclusion periods.
- Environmental and sustainability monitoring and auditing.
- Be central point of contact for ESG & Sustainability topics, coordinating with relevant functions and responding to stakeholder requests.
- Develop GSI Sustainability Project strategy & vision based on materiality assessment with key stakeholders.
- Lead and maintain the environmental program for GSI.
- Coordinate deployment of GSI specific Sustainability strategy, track and report progress to key stakeholders.
- Lead data collection, internal verification, coordination.
- Lead/coordinate/support decarbonization and Sustainability efforts in GSI operations and value chain.
Skills, knowledge, and experience required:
- Degree in business management, Sustainability, environmental engineering or other academic field from an accredited college or university discipline.
- Experience in GRID industry or in power generation industry.
- Experience in sales & commercial function or strategy / management consulting.
- Ability to work with cross-functional and cross-business teams.
- Confident with reporting and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously
