This EHV Fitter will report to the Project Supervisor and will work within Capital Programme - Operations SPN based in multiple locations in the South. You will be a permanent employee.

Job Purpose:
To work as part of a team, carrying out the full range of tasks associated with EHV substation installation and construction at voltages up to and including 132kV.
Principal Accountabilities:
- You will Install and test all plant and apparatus associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network
- You will locate faults and repair all plant and apparatus associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network
- You will manager work undertaken by UK Power Networks contractors and Alliance Partners.
- You will hold appropriate safety documents (LOA & PTW)
- You will ensure that all staff for which you will be responsible, work to the DSR and to demonstrate a safety culture
- You will manage construction / maintenance staff within their working party
Qualifications:
The following skills and attributes are important to this role:-
- City and Guilds 2399 Electrical Power Engineering
- Complete a recognised apprenticeship
- Work in a team environment
- Problem solve in a practical way and able to work under pressure
- Must have a clean driving licence
- UKPN Substation Entry
- Receive PTW and Manage Site Safety (up to 132kV)
- UKPN Confined space trained (AB&C)
- The Ladder Association Use and Inspection of Ladders and Steps
- EUSR SHEA Passport
- Oxy-Propane Brazing including industrial gas awareness.
- Ladder Association
- SMSTS competence
- IOSH Working safely
- An understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation
Nature and Scope:
You will play an important role in the safe completion of the Capital Programme for the SPN region. You may work at any location within the UK Power Networks area.
