We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Authorising Engineer on a permanent basis to work within our electrical compliance team based in Glasgow.

The Electrical Authorising Engineer will be responsible for ensuring safety, customer quality and compliance with ESR and competent person training. Responsible for developing training schedule to have all necessary electrical resource upskilled to undertake specific tasks as well as demonstrating safe isolation procedures. Manage the electrical resource on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures. Implement and manage continuous improvement by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.

Main Duties

  • Ensure ESR is complied with and also updated with any relevant changes to regulations, NICEIC guidance and scope of works & compliance with test kit calibration & certification.
  • Ensuring all electrical resource in WGM comply with ESR & Isolation training and procedures.
  • Ensuring all templates for electrical RAMS are compliant with ESR.
  • Drive efficiencies within office and field teams through upskilling of electrical resource primarily through facility at Cumbernauld but also onsite as required.
  • Offer technical support to Project Engineers and field teams.
  • Regular reporting of Competent person training, upskilling & ESR compliances of electrical resources to duty holder at quarterly reviews.
  • Identify and maintain the technical skill sets of electrical resource including updating of ECS or CSCS cards and process.
  • Ensure adherence to all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Carrying out Safety Briefs/ TBTs/ Site Inspections as required

To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar Level Electrical role, you will have In depth experience of all aspects of electrical work undertaken by WGM (Inspection & Testing, EV charging, Installation works ect) as well as a good knowledge and understanding of electrical construction to WIMES Specification. Candidates will be expected to be qualified 18th Edition Wiring Regulations as a minimum and also require 2391 Inspection & testing qualification or equivalent. Full UK drivers license is also required.
