SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.

Primary Purpose of Role:
Continued growth and multiple, sophisticated engineering projects means we offer dynamic, interesting and exciting work. In this role, you will design and develop new electronic and electrical sub-systems for complex process machinery - developing electrical sub-systems in conjunction with other specialists.
Your role will be to design to electrical standards and approved codes of practice. It will also include concept and planning, feasibility, production, and introduction and support of new parts at customer sites.
Our collaborative environment requires Engineers to coordinate efforts with colleagues within and outside your team. Some work will be hands-on. You will be as comfortable working on project and design tasks as you are with more practical elements of the role
Responsibilities will include:
  • Integration of electronic devices.
  • Electrical assembly, Wiring harness and PCB design.
  • Electronic component selection.
  • Design and specification of electrical distribution hardware, cabling/ breakers etc.
  • Supporting assembly both remote and onsite
  • Testing/Verification of development projects
  • Creating engineering bills of materials
Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of HNC/equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of Machinery safety laws and EU harmonized standards
  • Good knowledge of 3-phase distribution
  • Understanding of UL/NFPA/ EN60204 regulations
  • Design of safety circuits (EN13849 regulations)
  • AutoCAD experience
