Blueprint Recruitment has an exciting new opportunity for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading Design Engineering Company, on a permanent basis. This role requires presence in either the Hartlepool, Glasgow or Portsmouth office, 2 times per week to work on Marine projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the preparation and development of HVAC systems, the production of design documentation and supporting Commissioning teams.
This exciting opportunity provides the Design Engineer with the chance to work with an enthusiastic team of Engineers and Technicians who specialise in a variety of markets, with customers spanning the Naval, Commercial and Offshore Renewable Energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the client's requirements into viable system designs
- Produce specifications for supplier/subcontractor deliverables
- Develop and manage the control philosophy for HVAC systems
- Manage all aspects of HVAC control system design and the electrical equipment within the HVAC system
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including internal and external supplier design reviews
- Manage the HVAC Control systems interface with other ship systems, including, Platform Management System, Low Voltage Electrical Distribution System and Condition Monitoring Equipment
- Produce design documentations, including, Cable schedules, Software specification, Single line drawings, Termination schedules and Electrical load schedules
Key Requirements:
- HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent trade qualification or vocational experience)
- Proficient with Microsoft office, word, excel, power point etc
- Ability to manage Suppliers
- Previously led a small team
- Extensive experience with Marine Electrical systems
- Organised working method
- Experience of PLC Control
- Working knowledge of Naval Electrical standards
- Able to be client facing
- Experience in Control Panel design and specification
- Able to obtain Security Clearence (current clearance is a preference)
- Past experience using Foran and AutoCAD 2D is desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Previous experience creating Bill of Materials and product data management
