The opportunity
Due to an increase in project wins, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team who are at the forefront of driving cutting edge solutions to key nuclear projects.
The role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the review, authorisation and assessment of control systems within infrastructure design. Ensuring the infrastructure designs meet the appropriate standards and codes; and deliver reliability and maintainability requirements.
This role requires a strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, holding strong experience in authoring, development and assessment of electrical control systems. Supporting defence facilities and delivery of services across a number of sites.
- This role will be 12 months, with the opportunity to be extendable and is deemed inside IR35.
- Location will be remote.
Your experience will include
- Experienced Electrical Engineer with previous knowledge of industrial plant and machinery in a HV or LV environment (i.e. pumps, generators, Lightning Protection, Control Systems etc.)
- Knowledge of current British & European design standards and working practices.
- Theoretical and practical skill and experience across concept design, detailed design and construction stages across a range of Electrical Engineering projects.
- Experience of authoring and producing robust technical justification and supporting documentation to allow for relevant electrical design modifications to be authorised within a high hazard industry.
- Familiarity with safety case development techniques e.g., HAZID/HAZOP studies.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
- Minimum HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience working in nuclear, defense or highly regulated industries: For non-nuclear background candidates, a Nuclear introductory course would be required to be undertaken within 6 months of joining.

- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer.
