A great opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company.
Job Description:
- General maintenance duties, proactive and reactive to ensure there is minimum downtime.
- Communicate details of unscheduled downtime to the Maintenance Lead and the reasons, with solutions offered.
- Participate in trouble shooting and problem resolutions.
- Participate in continuous process improvements.
- Update KPI board promptly with relevant information to pass on to your work colleagues
- Maintain Regular communication talks with the machine foreman and other team leaders to discuss any relevant issues.
- Ensure comprehensive information, both verbal and written, is carried out between shifts to ensure efficient and smooth handover to other maintenance staff and the Maintenance Lead.
- Carry out routine maintenance schedules to the maintenance schedule plan PPM
- Regularly check, to ensure current machines are all running.
- Prioritise production stoppages over daily duties.
- Installation work where required.
- Follow a 'clean as you go' work ethic in accordance with good manufacturing practise.
- Take Responsibility for ensuring the workshop and individual toolboxes are maintained to the highest standards.
- Identify improvements that can be made to production lines, individual machinery or other operations and ensure these improvements are communicated to the relevant team.
- Ensure relevant administration is completed for all work undertaken.
- Ensure knowledge is kept up to date for all areas of the role.
- Carrying out electrical tests and diagnostic checks.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
- A time served Electrical engineer or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering including at least 17th Edition.
- Excellent problem analysis, PLC fault finding and ability to read schematic diagrams.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of electrical control systems.
- Fast and accurate fault-finding ability.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferable but not essential.
- Possess an excellent understanding and commitment to safe working practices.
- Good organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Identify maintenance improvement opportunities and develop action plan to deliver.
- The use of a Computerised maintenance management system, (CMMS), to manage daily work activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment.
Shift & Package details:
- Continental shifts 2 days (06:00 - 18:00), 2 nights (18:00 - 06:00), 4 days off
- Salary £43,243.20, rising to £48,004.32 after 8 week training period.
