SalaryAdecco Engineering have an exclusive opening with our client based in Harwich Essex for an experienced Electrical and Controls Technician to join our their on a permanent basis.
This role is day-shift Monday to Friday with on call rota and potential overtime.
Ideal candidates will hold relevant qualification BTech, HNC/HND, or equivalent and will have worked within process or chemical, industries however applicants who have worked in heavy engineering environment or FMCG may also be considered.
Main Overview
To support maintenance and compliance and provide preventative inspection of our clients Electrical and Control equipment, to ensure safe and reliable Plant Operations. You will be required to maintain and repair complex electrical and control systems on-site and execute preventative plant maintenance on various equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Undertake maintenance, repair and modification activities on electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
Statutory compliance - manage routine inspections and maintenance.
Work Planning - Plan work on site, including managing contractors. Instruct and ensure allocated tasks are carried out effectively and in a safe and timely manner.
Documentation - ensure all inspections and modification activity is recorded.
Comply with policies and procedures, adhere to relevant permits and licences. Comply with processes/procedures covered by ISO (phone number removed) and 18001.
Act in accordance with COMAH safety report and within the requirements of Emergency Plan.
Skills/Qualification/Experience
Applicants must have strong electrical skills and will preferably have some controls experience. System training will be provided, and further development can be provided.
Electrical bias Qualification BTech, HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent
17th Edition and or CompEX certificate. (18th Preferrable)
Experience of Electrical systems maintenance and testing in hazardous areas to EN60079
Experience of working major shutdowns.
Good communication skills, record keeping, an eye for detail as well as analytical skills
Formal Health and Safety training would be of advantage.
