Electrical Maintenance Technician
Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Hours: Full-time/Permanent. 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (days). on-call team rota, 1 in 4 weeks.
Salary: £38,000 per annum (dependant on skills and experience), excellent benefits package plus annual bonuses!
Our client
Our client is a leader in the discovery and development of novel therapeutics of all modalities with operational sites in the UK, Europe (Germany, Italy and France) as well as the US. They provide integrated Chemistry and Manufacturing capabilities to fully support drug substance development and GMP manufacturing on both laboratory and commercial scales for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to join our clients team in Abingdon. We are looking for candidates that have gained their experience within a Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical utility, or Chemical industry- we would like to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance to ensure that the building, plant, and equipment continues to support day to day operations.
- Maintain site services; AHU’s, extract fans/motors, water systems (process /domestic) inclusive of pumps, calorifiers, boilers, pressurisation units, and vacuum systems.
- Maintain all electrical systems and perform fault finding where failures occur.
- Undertake routine emergency light testing, external lighting checks and associated remedial works.
- Liaise with and support external contractors in maintaining; Gas Boilers, Compressed Air, UPS, AC/Chillers, Water System dosing, BMS, PAT and Fixed Wire testing.
- As a Team member, support routine activities such as Weekly Fire Alarm Testing, and daily checks to verify correct operation of plant.
- Action maintenance/engineering requests, either internally or by use of external contractors for specialist work.
- Occasional weekend or out of hours work and participation in on-call rota (approx. 1 week in 4)
- Undertake the duties outlined above and other duties as directed by Engineering Management and from time to time carry out any additional tasks as may be required to support the Company.
Education and Experience
- +3 years Electrical Maintenance experience gained in a manufacturing/facilities/chemical environment is essential.
- Indentured Electrical Apprenticeship
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent
- 17th/18th Edition Qualified
- Experience in a regulated, GMP or ATEX environment (CompEx qualified) would be advantageous.
