Exciting Opportunity for Electrical Manager Production in European Electrical Engineering Operations Department
A fantastic opportunity has emerged within the European Electrical Engineering Operations Department for an Electrical Manager Production, based in the South-West of Greater London. This role involves overseeing all functional aspects of Electrical Managerial work within Operating Plants, including providing guidance and management to a team of electrical engineers and designers. Additionally, the position entails serving as the Technical Authority for over 200+ electrical qualified staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
Directing the Electrical Support Team for European IG, which includes managing:
- Technical Authority for Electrical Engineering design, ensuring approval and legal compliance for delivery, installation, commissioning, and safe operation of Electrical Systems & Equipment.
- Technical and operational support for plant operations.
- Project management services for Electrical Equipment Installations.
- Technical assistance to the Maintenance Department.
- Providing electrical safety training and mentoring to plant and maintenance personnel with electrical operations responsibilities.
- Ensuring compliance with EH&S requirements and national HSE authorities.
- Providing operational safety, reliability, and efficiency consultancy.
- Reviewing and approving engineering & design documents, protection/arc-flash studies, and fault level calculations to ensure compliance with AP and National Codes & Standards.
Providing technical leadership and governance, support, and decision-making in the field of electrical equipment and systems to ensure safe and economical plant operation. This responsibility extends to production facilities throughout Europe and active project execution in various regions.
Providing input to AP engineering standards, safety, and operations practices. This includes collaboration with Global Centres of Excellence and supporting other regions as requested with technical input or troubleshooting support.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- An Electrical Engineering degree with demonstrated experience in the industrial gases, petrochemical, or allied industry.
- Detailed technical understanding and practical knowledge of various electrical systems, including MV and LV motors/generators, switchgears, variable speed drives, transformers, etc.
- Experience in engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance.
- Experience in creating and amending electrical standards & company policies.
- Skill in managing interfaces with internal and external personnel.
