Electrical Or Instrumentation Technician

My client is currently seeking a skilled Electrical or Instrumentation Technician to join their local team at their site based in Belfast. This role offers a fantastic chance to become part of a worldwide organization known for its excellence and innovation.

What you'll be doing;

Assist and Support the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor in completing an efficient maintenance function in Electrical, Instrument, Control & Automation Maintenance while adhering to all relevant legislation and site procedures. Assist in completing prevent plant breakdowns by ensuring the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is carried out, ensuring that the risk of downtime is kept to a minimum ultimately keeping loss of profit and revenue to a minimum, minimising disruption to operations, and maximising up time and availability.

● Comply with the company's Quality and Environmental Management System and Health and Safety Policies.

● Review plant defects, diagnose and remedy plant defects, develop proposals for modifications where appropriate, to maintain plant reliability and availability.

● Maintain the workshop and other work areas in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.

● Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on a variety of plant and apparatus including High/Medium/Low Voltage equipment, motors, variable speed drives, switchgear, large rotating equipment, boiler, and steam plant and auxiliaries, material handling equipment, crane equipment, abatement equipment and plant auxiliaries etc

What we're looking for;

● Electrical or Instrumentation Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent

● Electrical or Instrumentation experience, 5 years minimum and good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems.

Experience required:

● High /Medium/Low Voltage Electrical Systems, control systems, switchgear; PLC's, Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors,, steam systems and ancillary services, steam Boilers.

● Instrumentation Experience on Calibration of: Temperature, Level, Flow, Pressure, Weighing, SCADA or DCS control systems.

● Troubleshooting/repair of electrical and control systems

● Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems.

● Work within a Computerised Maintenance Management System.

● Work within a documented Permit to Work System ● Computer literate

● Ability to read and understand P&ID's.

● Understanding of SOP's and GMP Engineering systems.

● Understanding of Basic Instrumentation

Must be able to demonstrate hands on experience with detailed knowledge/skill in the following areas:

● Work within a team on-call rota.

● Prepared to work if required weekends and during planned outages.

● Team player.

● Attention to detail

● Methodical & analytical approach to work.

● Good problem solving and trouble shooting ability.

● Good Initiative and pro-active attitude in approach to duties

Desirable:

● Control Systems (Scada & DCS)

● Experience of Power Generation Plants and Waste water Treatment Plants;

● PLC's

● High Voltage switching.

Salary: £21.97 per hour plus shift allowance

Location: Belfast

Hours: 42 hour week (Potential of working a rotating shift pattern covering 12 hr day shifts)

Temp ongoing with the possibility to become perm based on performance and attendance.
