The role – Electrical and Controls Project Engineer

Based within the UK Engineering team, you will have a varied and challenging role and will be responsible for the management and delivery of a wide range of multi-disciplined engineering projects, from initial design and authorisation through to procurement, installation and commissioning.

You will be responsible for the management and delivery of capital investment projects, programme and project management and providing expert engineering and technical support companywide.

You will have a broad and varied range of duties and responsibilities including;

  • Manage and control a broad range of simultaneously running multi-disciplinary projects from initial concept through all development stages to completion and provide post completion technical support
  • Ensure all project works meet company, client and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all works meet the requirements of the annual capital investment plan in relation to quality, cost and delivery
  • Provide specialist Electrical and Controls technical support to all internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Manage and control construction and commissioning activities including all contractor and sub-contractor works
  • Lead and support companywide electrical / controls equipment and systems improvement works and support plant and equipment sustainability
  • Work with the UK Engineering team to identify, implement and control new technology development ensuring the highest quality and standards of throughput are continually maintained

Ideally minimum HND qualified within an Electrical / Controls discipline and possessing a relevant H & S qualification, NEBOSH / IOSH, you will have a wealth of experience within an Electrical and Controls Project Engineering role having managed multiple simultaneously running site / companywide projects. You will be able to demonstrate proven success in leading and managing a broad range and value of projects from initial concept through all design and development stages through installation to commissioning and post commissioning operation including all budgetary control. You will have a first-class technical knowledge with an ability to ensure all non-technical stakeholders fully comprehend work activities and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will have a first-class working knowledge of a broad range of, ideally both LV and HV, electrical and controls systems and have an in-depth understanding of PLC programming, mainly ladder logic (Rockwell ControlLogix) and SCADA software (FactoryTalk) and telemetry systems, instrumentation including level, flow, temperature & pressure and wiring systems including general IT, Asi, Ethernet IP & analogue loops. Previous experience within the FMCG, Pharmaceutical or similar industries would be a distinct advantage.
