The Shift Engineer will carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance and extra works/emergencies in accordance with the contract requirements on Electrical Services and associated systems.
This is a 24/7 Continental Shift Role
Responsibilities
You will;
- Ensure that all plant and BMS checks are completed on time, and all problems found are recorded and communicated to the Shift Leader
- Carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Plant and associated systems.
- Be proactive with regard to preventative maintenance and good site husbandry.
- Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
- To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the elecrical aspects of the PPM and plant.
- Respond in a prompt and effective manner to all Helpdesk related reactive maintenance issues, associated with the heating and ventilation systems, pumps, water tanks, valves, pipe work and associated mechanical systems or as directed.
- Co-ordinate visiting specialist sub contractors associated with mechanical aspects of the PPM schedules.
- Respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the mechanical services aspects of the contract as required.
- Assist other trades as necessary.
- Provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.
- To proactively work towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions be they Mechanical and Electrical, Like for Like replacements, Project works, FM Soft Services etc
You will have:
- NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition
- Experienced in the electrical aspects of general building Planned Preventative Maintenance(PPM) schedules
- Competent working knowledge of Air Handling Unit’s, Building Management Systems, Air Conditioning equipment, Cold Water systems, Heating and Ventilation systems, Water Treatment and Emergency Generators
